Patoro, die Luxus-Marke des Schweizers Patrick Martin, will den wichtigen US-Markt erschliessen. Für die Distribution hat das Unternehmen einen Vertrag mit Christian Eiroa abgeschlossen, dessen Unternehmen Camacho vor einigen Jahren an Davidoff verkauft wurde. Das US-Team von Patoro hat auch sonst einige Verbindungen zu Davidoff. Neuer CEO und Mitinhaber ist Dr. Pablo Richard Schneider, der Enkel des verstorbenen Davidoff-Patrons Dr. Ernst Schneider. Auch Patrick Martin selber hat eine Davidoff-Vergangenheit, er begann einst als Product-Manager von Avo Cigars bei Davidoff.

July 15th, 2014 – Dr. Pablo Richard, Grandson to Dr. Ernst Schneider to enter the U.S. Cigar market with his own brand, PATORO Cigars from the Dominican Republic. “We are happy and proud to announce our partnership with Christian Eiroa of CLE Cigars” says Dr. Richard, “we have very similar philosophies and backgrounds, both of us being fourth and third generations tobacco men. PATORO Cigars which will be distributed by CLE Cigars out of Miami, Fl. PATORO Cigars was founded in Switzerland by Mr. Patrick J. Martin in 2001 and has been available in Switzerland for 11 years. “The origin of the name ‘PATORO’ is Pat and Oro, Patrick’s Gold” states Mr. Martin. Dr. Richard, a licensed physician in Switzerland, joined Mr. Martin in 2013 soon after he decided to leave medicine in 2012 and follow his family’s long tradition in the cigar business.
